The weather has been chilly recently with the heavy rain and looks like it is going to be a wet Christmas! A tea party would be perfect for this jolly season! Whether it is an afternoon tea party or a post-dinner tea party, you can spend more quality time with your friends or family with a warm cup of tea for everyone, some snacks and watch some Christmas movies or play some games with them to chill and relax :)

Pairing Your Dessert with the Perfect Cup of Coffee by Pacific Coffee Company
Ever wondered how coffee affects the taste of your dessert? Pacific Coffee Company (PCC) recently organized a coffee and food pairing session which is hosted by their Coffee Ambassador, Mike Yung.
Originally from Canada, Mike Yung has quite a number of awards and accolades under his belt where in this event, he gets to share his knowledge and experience in coffee.
Alexander Leaw, the Operations Manager of PCC said that they want their customers to take their time and savour every cup of coffee they drink to explore the richness and aroma the different kinds of coffee bring. Pairing coffee with a different food is always a new experience.
In line with PCC's passion for quality coffee, three main coffee beans were selected for this pairing session, which is the Sumatra, Costa Rica and Ethiopian Mocha. These signature coffee beans are available in all PCC outlets!
The first dessert is Tiramisu, where it is a popular coffee-flavoured Italian dessert that is usually served in a small cup for a refined presentation.
Pairing it with the Sumatra blend, the smooth texture and flavours from the Tiramisu with walnut releases earth flavours to enhance the Sumatran coffee as it has a fascinating complex herbal and earthy aspect to the aroma. The Sumatra blend has a high body and low acidity which explains the earthy aftertaste and it creamy texture of the tiramisu compliments the flavour of both the cake and coffee.
The Costa Rica blend was paired with American Baked Cheesecake to bring out a refreshing taste from the coffee bean and rich flavours of the cake. I prefer the Costa Rica blend as it has a clean cut flavour that easily identified with its high acidity and lower body. The citrus flavour of the cheesecake also brings out the flavour of the coffee. If you're not a fan of cheesecake, chocolate also pair well with the Costa Rica blend!
Last but not least, the Ethiopian Mocha with Blueberry Cheesecake. This Ethiopian blend is different from the previous two as it is a dry processed coffee which is rich in taste with a notes of leather, wood, earth and hint of berry fruit. The rich blueberry cheesecake and Ethiopian Mocha coffee forms a unique fruity fragrance with its heavy-bodied coffee and low acidity that balances the sweetness of the cake and bitter taste of the coffee.
The quality of coffee is often judged by the balance of taste (acidity & bitterness), body (weight of liquid in mouth) and flavour & aroma. Depending on what you are looking for, coffee can be paired with complimentary or contrasting flavour. I would choose to pair my coffee with complimentary desserts as it enhances the taste of both the coffee and the dessert.

It was definitely an eye opening experience at the coffee pairing session. I have learnt to appreciate my coffee more and distinguish the types of coffee that I do and don't prefer. Coffee with low body and medium acidity is my preference. Can't drink those with high acidity and high body as it makes me dizzy and unfocused xD

Bag of Love Unboxing/Unzipping Tea Party
Hello lovely people :) Sorry for the lack of updates! There is tons of work to do lately, hence I have less time to update nowadays T_T Have loads of post to share with you readers so please bear with me. Haha...
If you have seen my one of my previous post about a tea party, it was to join the Bag of Love Unboxing /Unzipping Tea Party ^^ Bag of Love is an amazing beauty bag that has 5 deluxe sample size beauty products. Out of all the beauty boxes here in Malaysia, this one appealed to me the most after reading all the reviews from other bloggers!
I was estatic to be selected as one of the bloggers to attend the Bag of Love Unboxing/Unzipping Tea Party! It was held in Delectable Treats by Su at Paradigm Mall. This tea party is a joint collaboration between Butterfly Project, Bag of Love and Delectable by Su! I have always love the stuff at Delectable but never had the chance to tried them yet and at this tea party, I finally get to try out their yummy desserts :D

As I reached Delectable by Su for the tea party, I immediately fell in love with the display of desserts and cakes available for us that day! Everything looks too good to be eaten!
Bag of Love and Butterfly Project cupcakes :D
Cute little teapot. I kept thinking that this teapot will transform into a carriage like Cinderella xD

Mi Mi and Tammy who are the Bag of Love and Butterfly project respective founders. Mi Mi is a mother of two, previously worked as a beauty writer in top fashion and beauty magazines. Now, she is the brainchild for the Bag of Love. She is a really sweet and friendly person! Can feel her genuine personality oozing out as she gave a speech about Bag of Love :) Her experience as a beauty writer has definitely helped Bag of Love become one of the top beauty boxes/bag in Malaysia. She knows what the customers want!
I am sure most of you know Tammy, who needs no further introduction...kidding! Most of you know her blog, Plus Size Kitten where she does all the awesome reviews about beauty products, etc. She is also the founder of The Butterfly Project, a beauty blogger community where she organizes review opportunities for bloggers, collaborate with beauty brands, organizing contests and so many more! I really admire her energetic and bubbly personality where even though she has a full time job, she still manage to do all these amazing projects! Respect :D
With my Bag of Love!
This month's bag of love is made of bleach-free canvas in support of Earth Month! Even though it is canvas, it very durable and spacious too! Love the products that are in April's Bag of Love. Could see the smile on everyone's faces when we opened the Bag of Love together :)
Delectable by Su is having their Tea Time Treats promotion everyday where you only need to pay RM15 for 1 pax or RM28 for 2 pax! Very affordable and you get a variety of sweet & savoury treats :D Will definitely come back here with my friends when we want to have our ladies tea time session!
Look at the yummy tea time treats! It includes:
Spicy Sausage Puff
Chocolate Macaron
Roasted cashews
Carrot cake
Moist chocolate cake
2 Delectable cookies
Cherry Almond cake
I didn't get to try all of them as there was seriously SO much food that I can't take in anymore...haha. But I generally like this tea set. Loved the chocolate macaron! It was soft and chewy, plus it wasn't super sweet. Everything was done nicely. Carrot cake was yummy too! Thank you Tammy for preparing so much for us.
Picture with the lovely Mi Mi and awesome Tammy!
All of us bloggers definitely had a great time chatting and having our tea time treats at the Bag of Love Unzipping Party. After getting stuffed from the yummy desserts, it is time to go around to mingle and have photo sessions with the bloggers!

Acme Bar & Coffee @ The Troika
Took my mom out for her birthday treat at Acme Bar & Coffee. Before that, I've already planned for a place in Bangsar. However, Acme Bar & Coffee popped into my head the night before as I remembered hearing some good reviews and along with some late night research, ABC it is! :)
Using my ever faithful Waze GPS, I arrived at the location safely although I was one turning too early...but all turned out well :) It's near KLCC! The Troika's parking section was quite confusing so we took the stairs up to the concierge and asked for directions to Acme Bar & Coffee that was just around the block.
The enormous door was quite a hassle due to its weight. Struggled to open the door...no points for them because the waiters did not help :(
As usual, I am a sucker for good decor and atmosphere. Love the mixture of retro and modern setting. Chose the window seat so that I could enjoy the sunlight and also maximize the lighting for pictures of course ;P
Ice Lemon Tea, RM11 | Latte, RM15
B&W Sesame Tuna Medallion Salad, RM39
Tuna salad with romaine lettuce, hard boiled eggs and creamy garlic anchovies aioli dressing. Lettuce was quite plain due to the light dressing. The tuna on the other hand is coated with sesame seeds around it, which further enhances its taste :)
Grilled "Bacon" Wrapped Snails, RM25
Coco beans & parsley garlic sauce wrapped in duck bacon. The slightly crispy bacon accompanied by tender escargot. Yummy :D
Smoked Duck Breast Pasta, RM35
Spaghetti carbonara with smoked duck breast topped with parmesan. This was so-so. Salty is one word I would describe it. With both smoked duck and parmesan being salty, the combination was not that great. Perhaps they should cut down on the parmesan next time to balance out the saltiness.
Cakes galore!
Cempedak Cake, RM15
Sponge cake with cempedak cream and pistachio nuts.
Sponge cake with cempedak cream and pistachio nuts.
Was browsing through Foursquare for some recommendations and this cempedak cake stood out as a unique dessert to me. The reviews however, were mixed as some loved it and some said it tasted like puke. LOL *sorry didn't mean to disgust you* Ordered it anyway to try... Would say this cempedak cake is more of an acquired taste. On the first bite, it tasted weird but after a while my taste buds got used to it. Still...I didn't find it fantastic.
Overall, food here is alright. Liked two out of four dishes that I've tried :) They were renovating their outdoor area when I was there that day...would be a nice place to chill especially at night with KLCC nearby and all.

Journal by Plan B @ Publika
I'm sure most of you have heard of Plan B...it's one of the restaurants owned by The Big Group which includes Ben's, T forty two, Ben's General Food Store and more. I went to Journal by Plan B some time ago which was located in Publika. The menu is similar to Plan B :)
The interior :) The decorations outside looks more interesting actually with the chairs hanging on the wall!
Poached Eggs on Avocado-Feta Mash, RM21
Definitely a hearty meal to fill up your stomach. Felt full pretty quick with this...
Plan B Breakfast Platter, RM26
This breakfast meal is so huge! My mom couldn't finish it after eating halfway. I guess this would be a good breakfast meal for the guys :) Its come with fresh orange juice and a choice of coffee or tea! If you're a small eater, definitely share this among 2 person.
Spicy Aglio Olio, RM15
Macadamia Caramel Cheesecake, RM13
It's rich in cheese and the topping of caramel blends with the soft texture of the cheesecake that melts into your mouth ^^
I went there before lunch hour so the service was alright. Just had a hard time getting the waiters. But I still love the desserts and food by Plan B. Hehe :P
