Italiannies @ Empire Shopping Gallery, Subang Jaya

Headed over to Italiannies at Empire Shopping Gallery on Wednesday for a nice dinner as it was dad's birthday. It was practically empty when we got there but people started coming in later. Next door, Chilis was already packed with customers.

Complementary bread with olive oil and vinegar.

 Strawberry Colada, RM8.90
Wanted to get a cup of warm water but they only had bottled water which cost about RM15 for it. RM15 for water?! Don't know what brand that was, but no thank you.

Kilkenny, RM19.13

Tomato Bruschetta (set meal with pasta)
Love the generous topping of tomatoes, pesto sauce and parmesan cheese. Yum!

Stuffed Mushroom, RM30.90
Used to love the stuffed mushroom when Italiannies first opened. But now, the stuffed mushroom wasn't as tasty as before :(

Roasted Chicken Italiannies, RM38.90

Penne Bolognese, RM26.90
This was pretty bland I must say. Meat sauce over penne pasta, nothing much to shout about.

Filet Mignon with Portabella Mushrooms, RM48.90
The BEST dish out of all we've ordered. Well done, perfectly marinated and grilled beef. Nomz :)

Fettuccine Amatriciana, RM27.90 (set meal)
It was pretty salty, I'm guessing it's because of the olives and beef bacon with tomato sauce that made it saltier.

Coffee Chocolate Walnut cake from RT Pastry

Happy Birthday Dad!

Whisk Espresso Bar & Bake Shop @ Empire Shopping Gallery

Having been to Empire Shopping Gallery countless times, Whisk Espresso Bar & Bake Shop is a quaint little cafe that never fails to grab my attention whenever I'm there. It's always sending me this 'come to me!' vibe xD

My parents have been raving about this place since they been there when it opened for business not long ago but they did not bring me along. Sigh.

I bought some macarons at Whisk once for take away and they tasted really good. I think it's about RM2 per macaron.

Love the interior and furnitures in Whisk. Brick tiles and wooden furnitures gives a very cosy and warm feeling to it, almost feels like it's teleporting you to Europe. haha.

Finally, I got my chance to try out the awesome cakes at Whisk with a few of my high school buddies early this month. After dinner with the food from Pasar Ramadan, we decided to head to Empire Shopping Gallery to have an early celebration for Jay Dee (who is currently operating Talk-A-Teeth Muffins).

Chocolate cake
Filled with rich chocolate that melts in your mouth, it gets pretty filling after a while.

Red Velvet
One of the best seller at Whisk. The Red Velvet cake always gets sold out quickly. Got to try the cake after they replenished it and DAMN, it's awesome! The chocolate and vanilla taste combines perfectly with the icing which is yummy as well. I bought back a slice for the parents and I couldn't help to but steal a small piece from them :P

Hazri, Jay Dee & Me

Whisk offers different varieties of cake which I have yet to try. I should plan for more dessert session at Whisk soon :P

Hazri, Sha, Me & Jay Dee

Whisk is a very good place to chill and catch up with your friends. It makes you feel comfortable as though you're at home. Whisk is also very welcoming and friendly to their customers.

Spot the cute note =)

Serai Empire, Empire Shopping Gallery

It's ladies night again! Decided to have dinner with the babes, Amelia and Sharmayne at Empire Shopping Gallery yesterday. Susanna couldn't make it as she was down with fever. Get well soon dear :)

Parking was a biatch. Spent over 20 minutes going to every level but no luck. So we decided to park outside.
Settled down at Serai for dinner.
During my visits to ESG, I always find this place packed with people. The concept is similar to Delicious. Cosy ambiance with white furniture and pretty flowers as décor.

Amelia and Sharmayne.

Yours truly who's suffering from the pain of growing wisdom tooth. Sigh.

The staffs there are friendly and the customer service is good. The lady owner there is beautiful and elegant. She really takes care of her customer and even though it's during peak dinner hours, she still attends to your requests.

Ordered our food and surprisingly it didn't take too long to come even though there's lots of people dining there.

Serai Ice Tea, RM8.50
It's my first time trying a drink made of serai. Surprising it's refreshing and the taste blends well.

Sharmayne's broccoli soup (Soup of the day)
The creamy texture makes it really yummy and it does not taste nor smell heavily of broccoli. So for those who don't really favour vegetable soup, it doesn't hurt to try this! Sharmayne said it tasted more like potatoes.

Amelia ordered her pasta. Forgotten the name of the dish though.
More to Aglio Olio style. The herbs and sauce gave the pasta a light texture but it tasted real good!

Nasi Lemak, RM16
One of their specialities dish, they sure didn't disappoint! Accompanied with 3 pieces of average sized prawns, I wish they gave more sambal sauce :D

Pavlova, RM18.90
The cakes displayed at the counter was so attractive and Sharmayne couldn't resist but to order one. It isn't too sweet and the taste it just right. The cream and egg white, on nom nom!
