A Day in Publika

I know that I've been abandoning my blog again (^^;) Been busy with outings with friends and CNY that all I want to do is sleep when I get home. Well except surfing the net :P

Phin texted me one day and she told me Carmen's back frm Melb so we're gonna go meet up! Haven seen these girls for a long time! We hanged around Subang during the first week and then Publika! Ate a Ben's Grocer and walked around the store. Seriously, I've never seen so many foreign products and brands!
Decided to head over to Marmalade Cafe for dessert after Ben's. Publika is a MAZE! Took us a long time to find where Marmalade is and it was pure luck! If we didn't go up a level higher, I don't think we would ever find it..haha. I prefer the one in Bangsar though :)

 I'm starving! :P

Halloween @ Cameron Highlands

It was a 2 days 1 night trip up to Cameron Highlands on Saturday, the day before Halloween. Left KL about 10 in the morning and finally reached Cameron about 2pm. It was congested at Brinchang area, took us more than an hour to reach to Tanah Rata.

We were greeted by the cold and misty weather at Cameron Highlands.

After checking in to the rented apartments, we headed off for lunch at T Cafe, one of my favourite places to eat in Cameron Highlands. It's next to Maryland. The scones are awesome :)

Busy chomping down the food due to extreme hungry after hours in the car :P

Some of us :)

Walked around Tanah Rata after late lunch and retreated back to the apartment to rest after a long drive.

The bed in the apartment was pretty dusty and due to my sensitive nose, I got down with flu =.= It's not fun at all to fall sick when you're on a holiday.

Steamboat for dinner in Tanah Rata. There is this whole bunch of steamboat shop at the back of the bank area so we just randomly chose one.

After dinner, went to Starbucks for a hot cup of Creme Brulee Macchiato to ease the flu and chilled around with the cool weather. Some of them headed back to the apartment to start the booze and game session.

Woke up early and decided to go for a morning walk around the apartment and Tanah Rata. Breakfast at the mamak and bought some Cameron tea.

Me and Sharmayne. My nose is red like Rudolph.

Pretty flowers :)

Wanted to visit the Boh Tea Plantation with the breathtaking view but we ended up at the wrong place =\
It wind was strong and we were freezing.

After tea, all of us climb up to the viewpoint. The journey up was killing...lack of exercise. lol. But once we reached up we were happy because the view is nice too!

Playing games on the viewpoint.

Scenery from the viewpoint :D

Lizzie's Farewell @ Marmalade Cafe, Bangsar Village II

Planned a farewell for Lizzie back in September as she was leaving to UK to further her studies the next day.

Decided to have late lunch at Marmalade in Bangsar Village II.

Strawberry Delight, RM9 / Day Starter, RM9
The drinks are not too sweet and also refreshing *slurps*

Clockwise: Pasta Salad, RM17 / Pumpkin Soup (Soup of the Day), RM10 / Chicken Burger, RM22 / Beef Lasagna, RM21

Lebanese Wrap - Turkey Ham Sandwich, RM17
Ordered the above as my meal and it tasted good wrapped with ham, spinach and also cheese! Pretty unique I must say, and healthy too :D

Goofed around after meal. We were probably the youngest group of people on that day excluding toddlers.

Next up, DESSERTS!
Carrot Cake, RM11
The size of the carrot cake is huge! Nonetheless, love the nuts and the texture of the cake which is accompanied by the yummy marmalade (citrus peel)! :D

Oreo Cupcake, RM5
The icing is sweet, one is enough.

Apple Crumble, RM10.50
JC poured too much custard sauce on it resulted it on being too sweet but other than that the taste is addictive. It would be best to share this with someone as it gets pretty filling after a while.

Me and my oreo cupcake ♥

More happy pictures

Group shot!

I love the fact that Marmalade Cafe is very spacious and also bright! Makes me very happy because the place is well lighted. Sunshine love! Simple interior design and also cute murals on the walls definitely brightens up your day. A great environment to gather with friends and also get together for a nice dinner. Although the price is not cheap, but it's worth it as the portions are pretty filling and the desserts are plain awesome :D The meals are also healthy! Definitely a place to return to.

Whisk Espresso Bar & Bake Shop @ Empire Shopping Gallery

Having been to Empire Shopping Gallery countless times, Whisk Espresso Bar & Bake Shop is a quaint little cafe that never fails to grab my attention whenever I'm there. It's always sending me this 'come to me!' vibe xD

My parents have been raving about this place since they been there when it opened for business not long ago but they did not bring me along. Sigh.

I bought some macarons at Whisk once for take away and they tasted really good. I think it's about RM2 per macaron.

Love the interior and furnitures in Whisk. Brick tiles and wooden furnitures gives a very cosy and warm feeling to it, almost feels like it's teleporting you to Europe. haha.

Finally, I got my chance to try out the awesome cakes at Whisk with a few of my high school buddies early this month. After dinner with the food from Pasar Ramadan, we decided to head to Empire Shopping Gallery to have an early celebration for Jay Dee (who is currently operating Talk-A-Teeth Muffins).

Chocolate cake
Filled with rich chocolate that melts in your mouth, it gets pretty filling after a while.

Red Velvet
One of the best seller at Whisk. The Red Velvet cake always gets sold out quickly. Got to try the cake after they replenished it and DAMN, it's awesome! The chocolate and vanilla taste combines perfectly with the icing which is yummy as well. I bought back a slice for the parents and I couldn't help to but steal a small piece from them :P

Hazri, Jay Dee & Me

Whisk offers different varieties of cake which I have yet to try. I should plan for more dessert session at Whisk soon :P

Whisk is a very good place to chill and catch up with your friends. It makes you feel comfortable as though you're at home. Whisk is also very welcoming and friendly to their customers.

Spot the cute note =)
