Kedai Makanan Rasa Lain 味不同海鲜坊 @ Bercham, Ipoh

Hello readers! I know I have been posting about fashion and beauty recently but no worries, I still love my food! Here's one for you foodies :D

Discovered this restaurant during one of our family food trip in Bercham. Drove past this place a couple of times which was packed with people and we made a mental note to try out their food.

Food from the first visit. Forgot to bring my camera, hence a picture from my Instagram! hehe :P Foursquare recommended their homemade fishball which is very chewy/bouncy...worth trying! :) The cheese prawns and mushroom was yummy. However, the braised pork knuckle was a let down. What I would recommend is their smoked duck which to me is the best that I have eaten so far.

On our second visit to the restaurant, we called in advance to order their famous Claypot Crab with Glass Noodles. Yes, this dish needs to be pre-ordered! Almost all the tables ordered this dish as it is the restaurant's signature dish. Served with a generous portion of glass noodles and crabs, the broth was sweet and has a strong pepper and ginger taste. Would be a great comfort food especially when it is raining. Enjoyed eating the fresh juicy crabs too!

Claypot Cheese Prawns
Another signature dish which is served with sizzling goodness! Fresh prawn paired with sourish cheese is an amazing combination that helps to open up the appetite as well. Just by looking at this picture, my mouth is already salivating! I can't wait to go back and have more of this!

Stir fried vegetable...nothing to shout about.

Steamed tofu with soy sauce
Tofu texture wasn't soft. Have tasted better ones....

If you are ever in the area, do drop by and try their famous dishes! I recommend their smoked duck, claypot crab with glass noodles and cheese prawns :D If you don't fancy noodles, you can order the claypot crab with rice. Do call to order in advance to avoid disappointment :)

Burps & Giggles @ Jalan Sultan Yussuf, Ipoh

Been wanting to check out Burps & Giggles for some time now. Finally got to try it during my trip back to Ipoh. Since it was a weekend, Burps & Giggles was quite packed when we arrived.

When you enter, the first thing on the left is a bar :)

Followed by some awesome wall art on the right.

Cute sign

Decorations in the cafe

Drinks menu

Esprit Raspberry, RM8 | Fresh Apple Juice, RM8

Bery Bery, RM6.50
There is blueberry jam in the center too! Expensive and the pastry wasn't that nice. Could get it at a much cheaper price and better tasting ones in KL.

Healthy Freak, RM16
Burger with grilled vegetables, egg, ricotta and tofu pattie. Wholemeal burger bun is delicious! Combined with the grilled vegetables...yum yum! Couldn't make out what was in the tofu pattie but I enjoyed it.

By Ipoh standard, Burps & Giggles would be considered as a pricey place, but it is worth a try. With the mass amount of local eateries and Chinese coffee shops in Ipoh, Burps & Giggles is the perfect place to chill and enjoy a different variety of food. Would love to try their tuna quiche next time! Seems quite popular...

Yummy food in Ipoh

Headed back to Ipoh to spring clean the house 2 weeks back for the upcoming CNY.

The first stop was lunch at a restaurant in Ipoh Garden if I'm not mistaken for Lei Cha.

My favourite soya bean shop in Ipoh. During the holidays, it can be pack with cars and people queuing up as Funny Mountain has a drive through concept but you can get faster service if you queue up at the stall instead :)

Another popular destination in Ipoh, Lou Wong which serves ipoh sar hor fun, bean sprouts and chicken. The curry mee is yummy too :D

Walked around the streets after dinner and spotted a nice lantern. Too bad it had to be pre ordered for a week, so we bought another one.

Had dim sum for breakfast the next morning at Ming Court :)

 nyam nyam~

Peranakan style food at Restaurant Yum Yum for dinner (will do a seperate post for this!)

Managed to catch the Thaipusm procession which was happening on the streets.

Tiramsu java blend at Folie-Folie.

Breakfast at KarPin. The teh ais is a must try :D

Rojak and desserts at the food court located at the Ipoh Stadium before heading back to KL :)
Stall 36 and 38!
