2015 Make Up Routine

As usual, I will say time flies! Its 2015 already and we are already heading towards the end of January. February is another short month where I foresee it is going to pass in a blink of an eye! Especially with Chinese New Year coming around, there is so many things to prepare!

Anyway, I would like to share with you my makeup routine that I usually go for. I don't wear makeup often as it my skin breaks out pretty easily. I am more of a skincare type of gal and I often let my skin breath as much as possible, but here is my simple & basic makeup routine!

Usually, I started by prepping my face with concealer or sometimes foundation (depending on my skin condition) by trying to conceal away those dark circles and pimples! Then, I will move on to eyeliner where liquid eyeliner is my favourite choice. I have used Dolly Wink when I was in college which was introduced to me by a friend and absolutely loved it!

As time passed, I moved on to using other brands as well but recently revisited Dollywink again as it was part of the Butterfly Project Beauty Box that I received last year. One of the main reason I like Dolly Wink eyeliner is because of its intense black colour and also their thin tip which makes application an easy one. I am able to build up the eyeliner slowly without much error.

It is pretty much smudge proof and stays put throughout the day. However for my case, my eyelids get pretty oily and sometimes it smudges off easily towards the edge of my cat eye flick which irks me. Till today, I still haven't found a brand of liquid eyeliner that is extremely waterproof and smudge proof except for the Elianto eyeliner that was discontinued few years back.

After applying eyeliner, it is time for the lips to be prepped! I would start off with lip balm to keep my lips moisturized before putting on lipstick. With Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Lip Balm, I am able to keep things simple. It is both moisturizing and adds a lovely colour to the lips which saves me time whenever I am in a rush. The colour pigmentation is pretty sheer and suitable for an everyday look which gives pop of colour to my lips :) 

Sometimes, I would add on lip gloss to give my lips a more glossy finish / plump look. The Hotlights Lipgloss from Collection is very unique as it has a built in light which is super convenient especially during the night when you are in a dark-lit restaurant or washroom. It is also equipped with a side mirror which I found it pointless as the mirror is not really clear where you can't see the shape of your own lips perfectly. 

Whenever I am in the mood, nail polish is my go to item! I don't usually apply them on my fingers as I am a very rough person which I have mentioned many times before. So I only apply nail polish on my toes. The Maybelline Colour Show nail polish in Pink Voltage (#010) is a pretty sheer pink nail polish which needs to be layered up to at least 2 layers for the colour to show.

The Curious Goat @ Damansara Perdana

Located behind the quiet street of Damansara Perdana, The Curious Goat is a hidden cafe that needs to be stumbled upon due to the lack of signboard. Remember my previous post where I had the food tasting for John Ross Junior?

I had a hard time finding this place especially in the dark due to the black coloured building it is nestled in. I probably zoomed pass this place at least 4 times when my GPS told me I have already arrived at my destination. However, I spotted the graffiti outside the shop and decided that must be the cafe and I was right!

Their menu is not extensive on the food side as their forte is in coffee. But if you plan to have dinner there, there is food and dessert available :)

Cosy and chill interior which is good when you want to catch up with friends.

Ice Honey Latte, RM13

My go-to drink if I am at Curious Goat as it does not keep me awake at night! I also love the hint of honey after drinking it.

The Curious Goat uses Grade 1 of 100% arabica beans from Sulawesi Toraja. The coffee they serve is always consistent. Especially when roasting the coffee beans, sometimes it can be burnt, resulting in bitter and sour taste in the coffee. I always encounter these at various cafes, but at The Curious Goat, they take things seriously!

Usually brownies are chocolate in colour. However, The Curious Goat uses brown sugar instead of cocoa to bake the brownie. Hence the name, blonde brownie. It is served with vanilla ice cream.

Grand Opening of Magnum Kuala Lumpur!

A day without pleasure is a day lost. The opening of Magnum Cafe in Kuala Lumpur has gotten everyone beyond excited. During the first few days of opening, the queue was insane as pleasure seekers wanted to be amount the first in line to experience the 'Make My Magnum' ice cream in Malaysia.

It was really crowded during the grand opening where everyone was excited to see was the itinerary for the day. The opening performance was done by Ning Baizura and she blew everyone off with her powerful vocals.

[Review] Shizens Lip Tattoo

Shizens Lip Tattoo consists of a special white colour formula that when applied on, transforms your lips into a lovely natural pink or rosy tone. It also adds a spread of moisture and relieves the formation of fine lines.

The rose gold packaging is gorgeous and the applicator makes it easy to apply onto the lips. For hygiene purpose, it is best to apply it onto the back of your hand and then use your fingers or cotton bud to apply it onto your lips. Reason being is that we humans carry bacteria especially at the mouth area which may affect the effectiveness of the product after some time.

From a clear white formula, the product slowly change into a lovely shade of pink! Before applying the Lip Tattoo, I will apply a layer of lip balm first to lock the moisture in as the lip tattoo can be drying when applied directly onto the lips.

Usually lip products tend to fade away or go off after a few hours or when you eat and drink but with Shizens Lip Tattoo, the product actually lasts almost the whole day! So there is no need to reapply constantly! I also love the fact that the colour is really natural, which makes it suitable for all occasions :)

November Beauty Haul

It's December already! Time flies... Been really busy with work and hardly have time to update blogs nowadays. Lots of cafe post to write but let me share with you some of the products that I have collectively bought for the past 2 months.

1. Little Deer Charcoal Tea Tree & Lemon Soap

Stumbled across the Little Deer brand when I was at the bazaar in Publika. All ingredients used are all natural and it is 100% handmade. Only at RM20, they also include a soap pouch for easier lathering. Can be used on both face and body! I choose this charcoal soap as it helps in detox, clarifying, absorbing dirt and unclog pores from the skin. They have many other range of soaps as well which can be found on their website at www.littledeersoap.com.

2. Batiste Dry Shampoo

I always find the dry shampoo sold in Sephora on the pricey side. Imagine my delight when I found out that Bastiste Dry Shampoo is finally sold in Malaysia! Choose the original one as I felt the other ones were more heavy on the fragrance. Purchase it at RM24.90 if I am not mistaken. Only one size available which is 200ml. I saw 100ml ones being sold on ASOS long time ago...hopefully they will bring in 100ml ones as well so it is easier to pack while traveling. Loving it so far! I purchased this from Aeon Big but it also can be found in Jaya Grocer :)

3. MISSHA Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence

Been eyeing this product for the longest time ever since I saw reviews that this is a dupe for the famous SK-II Pitera Essence. Unfortunately, MISSHA does not have their counters in Malaysia anymore and I was lucky to find a MISSHA store while traveling in Siem Reap, Cambodia.  Initially it was sold at 60USD, which I was reluctant to pay such a steep price since Korea does not sell it that expensive. However, they were having 30% off all products in the store so I took the opportunity to buy it since it is justifiable with the price in Korea with a few dollars difference. I have been using it for 2-3 weeks now so will post up a more detailed review soon.

4. MISSHA Natural Konjac Cleansing Puff

Decided to try this out since it was priced at 4.50USD before discount as I have seen a couple of cleansing puff on the market for the past few months. This cleansing puff is made from Konjac plant which is effective in cleansing and exfoliating the skin. It is very soft and does not irritate my skin!

5. MISSHA Pure Source Sheet Mask

100% pure cotton sheet mask with serum on natural ingredients. I went with the lemon one since sitting on the tuk tuk for a couple of hours made my skin quite oily and clogged up due to the dusts and sand. This mask helps with sebum and pore care.

Pizza Hut Jam-Packed Pizza Blogger Party

Recently, I was invited to the Pizza Hut Blogger Party to check out their newly launch pizza called Jam-Packed pizza! It was held at the Maju Junction outlet in KL. It was my first time in Maju Junction so luckily I had my GPS with me :)

While waiting for food to be served, Pizza Hut organized a photo contest where we had to take a groufie with the pizza. A Twitter contest was also held and the winners with the most creative caption wins!

Fish & Co Xmas Party and New Menu Launch!

In conjunction with Christmas celebrations, Fish & Co organized a party to launch their new and exclusive Christmas Menu called Fish'mas Platter. The official launch of the Christmas menu was held at Fish & Co.’s flagship store at Pavilion KL. 

The event was attended by over 150 guests. Some of the guest lists included VIPs, press, media and celebrities such as Hujan, Vagabonds, Bittersweet and Oh Chentaku! 

Steve Tan, Director of Fish & Co. officiated the launching of the platter together with Suan Ai, the Marketing Director of Pavilion KL. “This Christmas, we were inspired by Caribbean cuisine. Traditionally, people at the Caribbeans grabbed whatever ingredients they have and cook it in a pot. We wanted to serve our guests with some oven-baked Cajun seafood goodness with extra virgin olive oil and various spices,” Steve informed the guests. 

The event continued with ice-breaking games such as ‘Most Amazing Santa Beard’ and ‘Fill the Stocking’. Winners walked away with RM 50 Fish & Co. vouchers. Guests also enjoyed photobooth activities. All guests were deliciously served with the star dish of the evening - Fish’mas Platter.
