AMPM Cafe @ USJ 21

*All photos are taken using HTC Desire 816

 photo IMAG0330-2.jpg
Cosily tucked right opposite Main Place in USJ 21, AMPM Cafe is the latest addition to the growing list of cafes in Malaysia. It is slightly tricky to find this cafe due to the road structure but if you are parked in Main Place, just take the exit next to Fish & Co. and AMPM Cafe is located on the opposite side!

 photo IMAG0326-2.jpg
Consisting of two-storeys, AMPM Cafe has a rustic concept which is really cosy and sometimes tend to make me feel sleepy when I am there....haha. Outdoor seating is available as well! I prefer the setting at the second floor as it is more quiet and I feel more at comfortable there.

 photo IMAG0328-2.jpg
Check out these amazing chalk drawings on the wall! Apparently they plan to change things up once in a while so the designs will be different every now and then.

 photo IMAG0329-2-horz.jpg
The second level is great for any private events or parties if you plan to hold one there. I have been there about 3 to 4 times now with my friends so the below photos are a compilation of what me and my friends have ordered so far and not during a single visit! Would be such a glutton if I ordered so much..heh.

Hot Chocolate, RM9 | Long Black, RM6

AMPM's hot chocolate has a unique presentation with a chocolate cube at the side for your to stir it with the warm milk. It taste really good! I felt that the milk could be warmer as the chocolate tend to get clumpy at the bottom. Perhaps I did not stir it enough... or was busy taking photos until the milk cooled down..haha #firstworldproblems. My friends say they prefer if it was dark chocolate so the taste would be stronger. Personal preference I guess!

 photo IMAG0079-2.jpg
Flat White, RM9

I usually prefer my coffee to be mild as I can't take too much caffeine so this cup of flat white was just nice for me. For those who prefer a stronger cup, you can request for double shot!

 photo IMAG0080-2.jpg
Mocha, RM10

When I've had enough of caffeine intake for the day, I would settle for a cup of Mocha :D

 photo IMAG0102-2.jpg
Big Breakfast, RM19.90

AMPM Cafe serves all day breakfast! Their portion is generous and worth the money but a couple of stuff can be improved such as the poached eggs which my friend ordered that day...it was cooked D:

The sausages was a bit too spicy but the manager said they will be changing the sausage to be a one that is non spicy the next time we visit as they will be changing plus adding in more stuff to their menu. Other than that, food is good! Hopefully more improvements will come :)

 photo IMAG0100-2.jpg
Catalan Baked Omelette, RM20

Yum yum yum! First time trying baked omelette as the cafes I went before only serve baked eggs. The portion for this is really filling and I took my time to finish my meal! It would be better it the bread was toasted.

 photo IMG_20140907_183236.jpg
Warm Raisin Scones, RM14

 photo IMG_20140907_183454.jpg
Chocolate Mud Pie

A generous amount of chocolate ice cream with a mix of cookie crumbs and banana, this chocolate mud pie is so sinful! Thanks AMPM Cafe for giving this awesome dessert on the house!

Pancake, RM17

The Bearded Lady @ SS15 Subang

 photo DSC_4054-2.jpg
Located in a quite corner of SS15, The Bearded Lady's decor is a unique mix of decor that matches well together. I would admit it is a little difficult to find the cafe as the signboard wasn't immediately eye catching...or it was just my bad eyesight :P

 photo DSC_4053-2.jpg
The cafe also has weekend bazaar and live performances from time to time.

 photo DSC_4044-2.jpg
Quaint cafe with lovely decorations and has a cosy environment. There were people hosting events when I went there, so it is a pretty good place for gathering, private events and etc.

 photo DSC_4042-2.jpg
Cute menu in the shape of a book!

Refreshing ice tea is a must during a hot afternoon! Check out their peach tea! It is a little too sweet for my liking though. Best requested to be less sweet :)

 photo DSC_4050-2.jpg
Mocha was ok.

 photo DSC_4045-2.jpg
Had some Nachos for snack and I thought it would be covered in cheese, chilis and sauce, but it's just plain nachos where the sauce tasted like tomato puree.

COSANS Coffee @ SS15 Subang

DSC_3005
Was quite excited to check out this new coffee place as I drove past is last year when they were still under renovation. I assumed the opening date was pushed back slightly later due to incomplete renovation. Previously, I saw on COSANS Facebook Page that it was suppose to be opened on 13th of Jan, but then it got pushed to 15th and finally opened on the 16th! Hmm...didn't have time to check them out during their opening so went there a couple of weeks later for a gathering with friends :)

DSC_3091
Pretty cosy setting I would say...

They have quite a few things on the food menu but there wasn't much to offer during the night I went, as most of the stuff are sold out and only limited choice of sandwiches and cakes are left. During the second time I went there in hope for breakfast, they didn't have anything except for coffee :( Hopefully their kitchen will be fixed/ up and ready soon...

Love the cosy setting of the cafe.

If you're not a coffee lover, there's tea served as well!

Nutella & Strawberry Frappe
Since my parents had tried their coffee and liked it, I went there with quite a high expectation, but I was let down by this drink. There was too much milk that I couldn't taste the nutella and strawberry. The second time I went there, my friend ordered this but it was too sweet. Told the waiter and they gladly took it back and made it less sweet. I guess they still have room for improvement to get the frappe right.

COSANS Signature Mocha
A drink that I ordered during my second visit, which redeemed my previous disappointment.

DSC_2963

Sandwich
Friends ordered this and they said it was too chewy/hard.

I guess some of the coffee isn't too particularly great. It's more of a hit and miss. They still have room for improvement. Service is great though, and their staff are friendly. Hopefully, they will have more food and better coffee during my next visit!

Tryst @ SS15 Subang

DSC_2112
The coffee culture in Malaysia have been booming for the past few years where many cafes are popping up everywhere especially in the Klang Valley. I have lost count on how many new cafes there are at the moment, but luckily articles like 'Top 10 coffee places to try in KL" which have been floating around the internet and social media for coffee enthusiast keeps me updated. I'm not particularly a coffee lover or an expert in judging the quality of coffee like some of my friends, but I still enjoy a cuppa caramel macchiato or any coffee that tends to be sweeter or not too bitter.

DSC_2049
Glad to see another cafe opened up in Subang as it means more options of places to hang out :D Found out about Tryst cafe when I saw a friend posted about this place on Facebook. Tryst has been opened for about 2-3 months now. Headed over there on a weekday afternoon and there wasn't many people around so it's good to get some work done there and also enjoy their music there as well. It's a great place to chill.

Had a difficult time figuring out how to pronounce the name of this cafe as I thought it was 'try-st', but it is actually pronounced as 'trist'. Haha... (please excuse my english). Googled and found out the meaning of Tryst is actually 'an appointed place of meeting'!

DSC_2039
A two storey cafe where the first level has a cosy setting, some lovely vintage decor, along with edgy graffiti on the walls. The second floor is simplistic with basic furnishing and for those who enjoy shisha.

DSC_2157
Just my kind of place! A vintage trunk as a coffee table.

DSC_2128
Staffs are really friendly and I had a chance to have a try their cold drip coffee which usually takes about 3 days to brew. It's my first time trying cold brewed coffee and loved the clear and distinct taste of it. Ought to try more next time and hopefully it does not give me a headache.

DSC_2137
A menu with lots to offer. The barista will also sometimes recommend things that are not on the menu which I am always delighted to try. Their all day snacks makes it event more appealing too. I just love my food ;) Heard that their grilled chicken breast is amazing!

 Piccolo Latte

Pancake with Honey & Butter
Soft and fluffy but the extra icing sugar made it too sweet for my liking.

DSC_2106
Pancake with Vanilla & Longan
Quite a unique flavour with sweet vanilla custard and longan which my taste buds did not get used to but it is alright. Perhaps I would try to order something else next time.

Mashy Chili Balls
First impression when I ordered this dish is that it would be a spicy dish where chili are mashed as a topping for the meatballs. To my surprised, it is actually mashed potatoes with meatballs and some toppings which has a hint of spice in it. It was not spicy at all which I am quite disappointed in but the creamy mashed potato made up for it. Somehow, the meatball tasted very similar to sup daging. Lol.
