Everyone loves a good bargain! Outlet centres are fast becoming popular shopping spots in Malaysia with all the discounts and price slash offered. Freeport A'Famosa Outlet has finally opened its door officially on 5th December 2015! With the space of 180,000 sq.ft., the outlet is loosely themed on Malacca's Dutch heritage with an open air mall concept featuring a lake, fountains, carousel and windmill.
Freeport is one of the pioneers of the outlet industry in Europe where the concept was brought over from the USA. The first outlet was opened in 1994 and since then, they have also opened up outlets villages in the UK, Portugal, Sweden etc. Freeport A'Famosa Outlet is the company's first project in South-East Asia!
Before the start of the tour at Freeport A'Famosa, we were given a welcome note by Swee Lynn, the Marketing Manager of Freeport A'Famosa Outlet. Also, we had a session with few of the celebrity bloggers mainly talking about tips on how to be stylish and also on building online presence.
Located close by the Alor Gajah toll on the North-South Expressway, it is easily accessible from Klang Valley! As I don't often go down to Malacca, it will definitely be a good reason for me to head down just to shop at Freeport A'Famosa and travel to town for food. Killing two birds with one stone!

In conjunction with the outlet visitation, us bloggers were given the chance to experience shopping at Freeport A'Famosa Outlet. A gift voucher of RM350 was given to us to shop and also find an outfit based on a certain theme for the contest within 2 hours! I was in team A, which got the theme 'Stylish'.
Everyone went around to the shops selected their outfit for the contest and I went to Forever 21 and Cotton On to search for the outfits. As it was the weekend, the outlet village was crowded and fitting rooms packed. It would definitely be wise to come on a weekday so that you can browse through clothes and try it without queuing up for long. Of course, with our 2 hours limit, it definitely seems like a rush! I managed to find an outfit and accessories to go with the theme but did not have much time to check out other stores. I will definitely go back to Freeport A'Famosa Outlet again when more shops are opened up :)
As some of the stores are still new, card system is not installed yet. Make sure to carry cash on hand so that you can shop until you are satisfied! Of course, there are ATMs available as well :)

I also bought other items which went up to RM370+ but it was worth the buy as I manage to get a total of 7 items where 4 pieces are from Forever 21, 2 pieces from Cotton On and 1 pair of shoes from Nike. Shoes at Nike are really worth it! I purchased mine at RM159. I also found cheaper ones which was around RM89 but I did not purchase those as I did not want to go over budget as I still had to keep some funds for my traveling ;) Tried to look for Air Max but for female sizes not many choices are available. I think I spotted one variant only as I was in a rush to purchase and queued to pay as the lines were long.
Refreshments are a must after a day of shopping! We were ushered to West 57th St. Cafe for a nice chilled drink and also cakes for tea time. I ordered the Chocolate Banana Cake which is superb!
