Miam Miam Cafe @ One Utama

 photo DSC_4351-2.jpg
When Miam Miam first opened in One Utama, I saw a lot of my friends posting about it on Instagram. I did not try it until a couple of months ago as there is always a long line at the cafe and I don't frequent malls as much anymore. Usually, I would opt to go during non peak hours so that you get the seats faster. It is always filled with customers all day long... service wise, it is ok as I have encountered both staff that is good and bad.

French Toast, RM16.80

I have been here for about 3 times now but usually it is to order their famous French Toast. The wait for the french toast is minimum 45 minutes and it is really antagonizing while watching everyone eat around you. But to me it is worth the wait as the french toast is so soft and fluffy! The only thing is missing is that they use cream as a topping instead of ice cream! It would be heavenly if they had ice cream to top it off....

This caramelised banana pancake taste amazing as well! The ice cream is really smooth and tasty which I wish they put this on the french toast instead :P

Zakuro 2 @ Scott Garden

Had the opportunity to go for a food review at Zakuro 2 thanks to Foodirector! This japanese restaurant is located in Scott Garden. They were in the business for more than 10 years already and was previously located in Jalan Ampang before relocating to their current location.

They have a wide array of selections from their menu. Let's take a look at their food!

Sashimi Moriawase
An assorted dish of freshly cut raw seafood which includes salmon, red tuna, white tuna, prawns, scallop and prawns. The seafood is undoubtedly fresh but somehow it lacks flavour. Maybe because it is the way it was cut, which was too thick for us to actually appreciate the taste.

Soft Shell Crab Maki
Found this rather disappointing as the soft shell crab was not crispy and the rice was over processed.

Dragon Roll
Ebi tempura roll topped with avocado. Very generous on the avocado and I quite enjoyed it but like the previous one, the rice was over processed as well >:

Salad Roll
Just a simple dish where the crispy lettuce and rice is wrapped with seaweed. A healthy option if you prefer something more healthy.

Scallop Chawan Mushi
Possibly one of the best dish that I have had that day. The eggs were steamed to perfection and the texture was really smooth too! Not to mention the huge scallop that comes with it as well :)

Salmon Lover
If you love salmon, try this platter which comes with the regular salmon sashimi and other different types of salmon sushi.

Salmon Salad
Raw salmon, cook salmon and salmon skin with wasabi dressing. The fried salmon skin is an interesting one, quite yummy and crispy actually. But the rest is just alright...maybe if they put more mayo in the salad instead at the top, then it will be better since it is salad.

Sashimi Salad
Raw sashimi with mixed fruit, tempura batter crunches and wasabi dressing. Strikes me as a fruit salad at first until I looked closely and to me, fruits and sashimi does not mix well.

Seafood Teppanyaki

Tori Teppanyaki
This two teppanyaki dish is quite a let down as the end product tasted more like a Chinese stir fried dish instead of a unique Japanese dish.

Gindara Mentaiko
Fried cod fish covered with fish roe and batayaki sauce which tasted really salty. If it was less salty then it would be perfect as both the cod fish and fish roe is tasty.

Gindara Seaweed Butter
Grilled black cod with garlic mushroom and seaweed butter. Only had a small bite of the cod fish which was really fresh and well cooked.

Hiyashi Ramen
Cold ramen with thinly sliced prawns and vegetables. It is topped with a really awesome sesame sauce which brought out all the ingredients flavour. Definitely another dish that I will order if I am ever in Zaukuro 2.

Mentaiko Yaki
Stir fried udon with cod roe and shitake mushroom. Never had stir fried udon before and I am quite surprised by the rich flavour that this dish had. Tasted real good especially with the smooth and chewy noodles as well.

Unagi
Not as meaty I thought it would be but it still tasted good.

Sesame & Green Tea Ice Cream
I am not the type to fancy sesame and green tea ice cream however this really suited my taste buds as the flavour is not too strong. I like that it is sweet and also lightly flavoured compared to the usual ones which are really heavy. The red bean paste also gives an additional flavour to the ice cream which I love as well.
