2015 Make Up Routine
As usual, I will say time flies! Its 2015 already and we are already heading towards the end of January. February is another short month where I foresee it is going to pass in a blink of an eye! Especially with Chinese New Year coming around, there is so many things to prepare!
Anyway, I would like to share with you my makeup routine that I usually go for. I don't wear makeup often as it my skin breaks out pretty easily. I am more of a skincare type of gal and I often let my skin breath as much as possible, but here is my simple & basic makeup routine!
Usually, I started by prepping my face with concealer or sometimes foundation (depending on my skin condition) by trying to conceal away those dark circles and pimples! Then, I will move on to eyeliner where liquid eyeliner is my favourite choice. I have used Dolly Wink when I was in college which was introduced to me by a friend and absolutely loved it!
As time passed, I moved on to using other brands as well but recently revisited Dollywink again as it was part of the Butterfly Project Beauty Box that I received last year. One of the main reason I like Dolly Wink eyeliner is because of its intense black colour and also their thin tip which makes application an easy one. I am able to build up the eyeliner slowly without much error.
It is pretty much smudge proof and stays put throughout the day. However for my case, my eyelids get pretty oily and sometimes it smudges off easily towards the edge of my cat eye flick which irks me. Till today, I still haven't found a brand of liquid eyeliner that is extremely waterproof and smudge proof except for the Elianto eyeliner that was discontinued few years back.
After applying eyeliner, it is time for the lips to be prepped! I would start off with lip balm to keep my lips moisturized before putting on lipstick. With Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Lip Balm, I am able to keep things simple. It is both moisturizing and adds a lovely colour to the lips which saves me time whenever I am in a rush. The colour pigmentation is pretty sheer and suitable for an everyday look which gives pop of colour to my lips :)
Sometimes, I would add on lip gloss to give my lips a more glossy finish / plump look. The Hotlights Lipgloss from Collection is very unique as it has a built in light which is super convenient especially during the night when you are in a dark-lit restaurant or washroom. It is also equipped with a side mirror which I found it pointless as the mirror is not really clear where you can't see the shape of your own lips perfectly.
Whenever I am in the mood, nail polish is my go to item! I don't usually apply them on my fingers as I am a very rough person which I have mentioned many times before. So I only apply nail polish on my toes. The Maybelline Colour Show nail polish in Pink Voltage (#010) is a pretty sheer pink nail polish which needs to be layered up to at least 2 layers for the colour to show.
Here's my complete makeup look! Products used are:
1. Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner (Black)
2. Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Lip Balm (Pink Shock)
3. Collection Cosmetics Hotlights Lipgloss (#4 Sparkle)
4. Maybelline Colour Show (#010 Pink Voltage)

[Review] Shizens Lip Tattoo
Shizens is an up and coming skin care and cosmetic brand, propelling its expansion in Malaysia as well as regional market. Inspired and infused by bountiful natural ingredients, Shizens offers a wide range of products, from makeup, skin protection to skin care, all created to revive and nourish your natural beauty.
Combining eastern values emphasizing benefits from botanical extracts and the advancement of western technology, Shizens products are enriched with natural ingredients selected from different parts of the world. Shizens believes everyone has a unique natural beauty that should not be concealed but to be revealed. Shizens is here to enhance the confidence level of everyone in revealing their uniqueness.
I have heard about Shizens before but never actually tried their products. Thanks to Butterfly Project Malaysia, I got to try out Shizens star product which is the Lip Tattoo!
What is a lip tattoo? If you search the term 'lip tattoo' on google you will actually see images of people having tattoo's on their lips which is kinda scary but don't worry, Shizens Lip Tattoo does not hurt at all!
Shizens Lip Tattoo consists of a special white colour formula that when applied on, transforms your lips into a lovely natural pink or rosy tone. It also adds a spread of moisture and relieves the formation of fine lines.
The rose gold packaging is gorgeous and the applicator makes it easy to apply onto the lips. For hygiene purpose, it is best to apply it onto the back of your hand and then use your fingers or cotton bud to apply it onto your lips. Reason being is that we humans carry bacteria especially at the mouth area which may affect the effectiveness of the product after some time.
From a clear white formula, the product slowly change into a lovely shade of pink! Before applying the Lip Tattoo, I will apply a layer of lip balm first to lock the moisture in as the lip tattoo can be drying when applied directly onto the lips.
Usually lip products tend to fade away or go off after a few hours or when you eat and drink but with Shizens Lip Tattoo, the product actually lasts almost the whole day! So there is no need to reapply constantly! I also love the fact that the colour is really natural, which makes it suitable for all occasions :)
Shizens Lip Tattoo retails at RM168 and you can find their stores here: http://bit.ly/1IQTFwp

[Review] Maybelline White Superfresh Long Lasting UV Cake Powder
Maybelline White Superfresh Long Lasting UV Cake Powder was launched in June 2014. It comes in four shades and the one I received for review was in 02 Nude Beige. With SPF 34 PA+++, the White Super Fresh Cake Powder helps to protect the skin from harmful UV rays. Due to the hot & humid weather in Malaysia, sweat and sebum always cause our skin to look oily most of the time. Maybelline White Superfresh gives the skin a matte finish, enabling us to look fresh all day!
Thanks to its unique Clean Touch Powder System, White Superfresh Cake Powder SPF34 PA+++ leaves behind an ultra-smooth surface onto the skin. It goes beyond sebum absorption where it helps to speed up sweat drying and evaporation so the skin remains clean. On top of that, the Clean Touch Powder System’s Mineral Perlite content contains 5X the absorbing powder of talc, making it more effective towards sweat and sebum. With one application, White Superfresh Long Lasting UV Cake Powder SPF34 PA+++ absorbs and entraps sweat and sebum, as well as speeds up sweat evaporation to prevent build-up. This faster drying action results in a clean touch and fresh makeup all day. You no longer need touch-ups!
I love the clean and white sleek design of this product where the embossed logo on it makes it extra chic! It is compact, easy to carry around and the cake powder is refillable too! I have combination skin where my T-zone tends to get oily very easily. However, after applying the White Superfresh Cake Powder, I noticed that my skin doesn't get oily as fast. I only the White Superfresh Cake Powder onto my skin as I do not want to put on too much layers like foundation, etc which will result in clogged pores due to my sensitive skin. So, a layer or two of the White Superfresh Cake Powder is enough to for my face where it lightly conceal and evens out my skin tone as well. I find that this product does not clog my pores :D
With the White Superfresh Cake Powder, I don't need to touch up as often as it keeps my skin matte all day! If I am in the office under air conditioner, I do not need to touch up at all. But if I am out in the sun, I just need to touch up once and it keeps my skin looking smooth and fresh for the rest of the day. Sometimes when I apply BB cream onto my skin, I will use it onto my skin using my powder brush for a matte finish.
Maybelline New York White Superfresh Long Lasting UV Cake Powder SPF34 PA+++ is available at major pharmacies, hypermarket and supermarket. It is sold at RM23.90, and the refills are available at RM11.90.

Rimmel London Lipstick by Kate Moss Review & Swatches
I have been wanting to get my hands on the Rimmel lipstick by Kate Moss for ages but unfortunately Rimmel was not well stocked locally and was eventually discontinued in Malaysia. Since ASOS was having a sale early last year, I went into a lipstick frenzy and bought five of those for £3.50 each.
There are two different collection of lipstick by Kate Moss. One is the original Lasting Finish (Black tube), and the other is Lasting Finish Matte (Red tube).
Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss - A creamy texture that gives a matte finish
#107 is a deep plum colour which is absolutely gorgeous! Very sexy vixen like don't you think? However, this colour doesn't really suit me as it is cool/blue based. Perhaps I should play around with it more to see if I will come to like it.
#110 is my current favourite with the vibrant salmon pink shade! It really brightens up my complexion and make me look less tired. I was quite sad to find that this lipstick shade came broken. The rest was in good condition and it will take a long time to post out and receive the replacement from the UK, so I just applied it with a lip brush.
#111 is a lovely vibrant red which is great for dinner or a night out. I love red lipsticks because it makes my teeth look whiter.
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss - Creamy & moisturizing finish
#05 is a sweet pink shade that is great for everyday wear!
#12 is a lovely coral/orange shade! I have yet to try this out yet and hopefully it will compliment my skin tone :)
Overall, I am really happy with my Rimmel lipstick purchase! They have a nice fragrance to it and the colours are really vibrant and pigmented. Rimmel claims that it lasts up to 8 hours. However, it is best to touch up after eating and drinking as it tends to wear off. I forgot to touch up once after my meal and it faded off from the inner part of the lips and slowly towards to outer. In the end, it will look like your lips are outlined xD
Do you own any of these shades? Which is your favourite?

Urban Decay Naked Palette 3 - Review & Swatches
When I saw a post on Facebook that Urban Decay was launching another Naked palette, I was beyond excited! The reason being that I was immediately sold to the new colours. I do not own the Naked palette 1 or 2 because I felt that the dark eyeshadows does not compliment me as it makes me look really tired. However, with the new Naked 3 palette, I fell in love with them because it has more rose pink hues which I will brighten up my eyes compared to the previous two palette.
The Urban Decay Naked Palette 3 was launched in Malaysia on 12th December at Sephora. I immediately went to the store in the morning to get my hands on one :D Naked 3 is sold at RM188 in Sephora.
The light weight, rose gold metal casing looks really lovely with the 'waves' pattern embedded across the casing. Besides that, the metal casing reminds me of the metal pencil case used when I was a kid ;)

Look at how gorgeous the eyeshadows are! A dual ended brush is also included for eyeshadow application and blending. This brush is really soft and picks up a fair amount of eyeshadow :D
With 12 gorgeous shades in this palette, it consists of 3 mattes and the rest are shimmer/metallics. Now, for the close up of the shades!

Nooner / Liar / Factory / Mugshot / Darkside / Blackheart

Swatches for your reference :D
The top picture is how it will look under direct sunlight and the bottom one is slightly away from sunlight. These shades are pigmented and easy to apply on. I love that all the colours are easily blendable where I get to mix around different shades to create different looks.

Words in bold are shades description taken from Temptalia and the rest are my personal opinion :)
Strange: "Pale neutral pink matte-satin". To me it looks more like a matte beige with pink undertones which is great for highlighting under the brows or used as a base colour for the lid.
Dust: "Pale metallic pink shimmer with iridescent micro-glitter". Fell in love with this colour but it wasn't as pigmented as I thought it would be. It would be perfect if the shade is more pigmented. The micro-glitter is lovely but the glitters are prone to fallouts, so you will have to dust the glitters off your face. I usually use this for the inner corners of the eyes.
Burnout: "Light pinky-peach satin". One of my favourite shade that has a gorgeous shimmery shade. It's a good eyeshadow for the centre of the lids.
Limit: "Light dusty rose matte". A nice shade of light brown with pink undertones. I usually use this on the crease or the outer lid.
Buzz: "Metallic rose shimmer with silver micro-glitter". Gorgeous metallic rose colour that I absolutely love! Very pigmented and great for all types of application, be it base colour or inner lid.
Trick: "Light metallic pinky-copper shimmer with tonal micro-glitter". Lovely gold metallic shade with is perfect for Christmas makeup or night events :)
Nooner: "Medium pinky-brown matte". A matte brown shade that is great as transition colour or to define to crease.
Liar: "Medium metallic mauve shimmer". Looks quite similar to Nooner with the rich brown shade except that is has a metallic finish.
Factory: "Pinky-brown satin". Warm brown shade with pink shimmers. The pink shimmers are quite hard to see unless you look at it up close.
Mugshot: "Metallic taupe shimmer with slight pink shift". A gorgeous metallic taupe with amazing texture.
Darkside: "Deep taupe-muave satin". Have yet to explore this shade but I think it would be great for smokey eye effect.
Blackheart: "Smokey black matte with rosy red micro-sparkle". Those reddish pink glitter really looks amazing on the palette, but I wish the glitters would stand out more during application. Not a colour that I will use often.
So far, these are the two looks that I went for by using different shades in the Naked 3 palette. Can't wait to play around with the other shades as well ;D
My current favourite shades are Burnout, Buzz, Trick & Liar. This palette is really versatile as the shades are suitable for every day use or for night time to glam up for events or parties! The left half of the palette are the pink & brighter tones and the right side move towards the brown hues and darker makeup look for smokey eyes.
Have you gotten your hands on the Naked 3 palette yet?

Honeypot's Hollywood Glam Waxing Party + Giveaway
One of the best ways to temporarily remove unwanted hair is by waxing. Waxing removes hair from the roots, unlike shaving which only removes hair from the surface. Normally after waxing, it can last from 3 to 6 weeks depending on the individual.
Why Wax?
1. Waxing removes all of your hair for a longer period of time.
2. It doesn't irritate your skin as much.
3. It leaves your skin feeling smoother.
4. Over time, waxing can reduce hair growth.
5. If done correctly, it will result in fewer in-grown hairs, which means it's not itchy!
6. No razor bumps, rashes, cuts or infections which you get with shaving.
7. Waxing is more hygienic and makes you feel fab!

Honeypot is a chain of waxing boutiques that oozes with classical elegance and glamour. They have branches in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.

Check out the treatment room! It gives a very cosy and welcoming vibe which makes you feel relaxed and at ease for the waxing process. Helps to calm the nerves a little don't you think? :)

Getting half of my leg waxed. The best time to wax is when the hair is about more than 5mm long, so that the hair is able to stick to the wax and removed easily. It is also best to avoid waxing during your three days prior and during menstruation as the skin is most sensitive during this period and more susceptible to pain.
It is also essential that there is no direct heat contact on the skin for 24 hours (eg: hot water) as it can irritate the new skin and open up the pores, which we don't want that to happen.

Here are the waxing procedure that Honeypot has done:
1. Cleanse - A pre-treatment step to cleanse and sanitize the skin.
2. Powder - Baby powder is applied on the area which to absorb excess moisture and also help the wax to stick more to the hair than the skin.
3. Waxing - Honeypot's therapist are well trained and experience to ensure a professional waxing service. Didn't feel much pain as well which was great :)
4. Cleanse - A final cleansing to make sure there is no wax residue.
5. Moisturize - To reduce irritation and sooth the skin after waxing as dead skin is removed.
It is also essential that there is no direct heat contact on the skin for 24 hours (eg: hot water) as it can irritate the new skin and open up the pores, which we don't want that to happen.

Honeypot also sells their products in the boutique which you can use it for aftercare waxing treatment or you can buy their wax products to DIY at home :)

HiShop Beauty Ambassador Welcome Pack Review + Readers Discount!
HiShop [pronounched as hai-shop] is an online beauty and cosmetics store that carries genuine products that is made accessible for everyone - anytime and anywhere. I am really grateful to be chosen as one of their Beauty Ambassador to be able to review beauty products that is available in their online store! HiShop carries numerous brands such as Antipodes, Heaven on Earth and many more which I believe are not easily accessible in physical stores. With HiShop, all these brands are available with just a click on the mouse :) Personally, I haven't been exposed to a lot of the brands which HiShop carries and I am glad they are a website that offers these alternatives! Delivery is free if you purchase over RM50 :D
As HiShop's Beauty Ambassador, I received a parcel on my doorstep which is filled with samples of beauty products such as face mask, makeup and so on! I also received discount vouchers from MilkADeal and HiShop. Continue reading below for product reviews and exclusive readers discount ;D
My first impression when receiving this sample sized mask is that it was a floral scented/lavender mask because of the picture. The description behind was in Japanese....so yeah, I only found out that it is a clay mask after opening the sachet xD I was delighted anyway, since it has been long I have used one. Full size (140ml) retails at RM88.90.
According to the website, the Nature & Co Vital Purity Lift Mask works to tighten pores, leaves skin smooth, banish skin dullness and smooths sagging skin. Directions said to spread an amount of four cherries evenly over the face and rinse off after 5 minutes. Apply skin toner/lotion after.
I only used half the sample size because I felt it was too much if I finished the whole packet. Around the size of two 20 cent coins is enough to cover my face. The light herb scent was alright for me, it goes off as the mask starts to dry/tighten around the face. I am impressed by the mask as it really tightens the skin when the clay mask dries...I could hardly move my face! It gives a tightening/lifting feeling for the skin during that 5 minutes. Remember to not talk, laugh or move your facial muscles when you put on this mask! I rinsed the mask off with lukewarm water after 5 minutes and I love how smooth my skin was when I touched it ^^
Nature & Co Pure White Lotion Light works as a skin toner to soften skin and boost ability to soak up nutrients, at the same time delivering whitening ingredients ingredients into the skin. Love how lightweight this toner is! Has a very watery texture too. Full size (180ml) retails at RM58.90.
Nature & Co Pure White Milky Lotion Light is a moisturizer that wraps dry skin in a solid veil of moisture that leaves skin plump and firm. It also claims to suppress melanin generations and wards off spots and freckles. I think this moisturizer is great for people who are under the aircond most of the time. Thick consistency but lightweight when applied onto the skin. It's not sticky and blends into the face well to provide moisture. However, for my combination skin and under non aircond area, the T-zone produces sebum quickly so there is an oil shine after a while. Full size (130ml) retails at RM58.90.
Korean face mask! Love the cute packagingMung bean extracts supply moisture and nourishment to dey and flaccid skin. Removes dead skin cells to reveal soft and smooth skin. Leave on mask for 15-20 minutes.
Love how this mask is able to cover my forehead entirely because most of the mask I use doesn't. There is a faint scent to the mask which I like because it is not too overpowering. The mask isn't superb but it does its job. After removing the mask, my skin had a slight sticky feel when massaging the remaining essence into the skin.
Deoproce Hydro Pomegranate Face Mist, RM19.90
HiShop gave a full sized product for this :D The price is really affordable too! Thanks HiShop for safely wrapping this face mist in bubble wrap :) However, there was a slight leakage as I opened the wrap as the bottle cap was not closed tightely. No worries about that! Was excited to try this out because it contains two of my favourite things - face mist and pomegranate Description is in Korean which I don't understand even though I know how to read the characters. haha...
This face mist is designed to soothe, moisturize, replenish, relax and rejuvenate the face. Helps to set makeup and also make your tired looking skin look bright and dewy.
I really adore face mists because it helps to refresh the skin when the weather is humid or when the skin feels dry in air conditioned areas. I like this face mist because it absorbs into the skin easily. But the scent wasn't really to my liking. I love sweet scents but when I sprayed this to my face, the scent was leaning towards the strong side. However, the scent only lasts for about a second or two when sprayed on, so I am okay with that. Just have to get brace myself/get use to the scent when I spray it on my face...lol.
When I am at home, I usually use this during the afternoon/midday when the skin gets oily...wash my face with water and then use this pomegranate face mist. Very refreshing! ;)
Farmasi Terracotta Mono Eyeshadow 12, RM38.90
FARMASI is the brand name of Tanalize Cosmetics where they are the market leader in Turkey at cosmetics and toiletries export market. This Terracotta Mono Eyeshadow is a baked eyeshadow that provides luminous/pearl shine effect. Long lasting and easy to apply, it can be used both wet (for intense colour) and dry (for basic pearl shine)
I was really excited to try out this colour as it looked really dark and sultry when I looked at it for the first time. Love that it can be used both ways. But it was not as pigmented as I thought it would be. Had to use my fingers to apply the eye shadow a few times to achieve the pigment that I want. Like the soft pearl shine effect this eye shadow has when applied dry. For the intense colour, I used the wet brush and applied it on for about 5 times to get the intense result.
